I'm still here
Still alive, (8-year cancer survivor) just not very journal-y. There are too many other things to spend my one hour computer time in the library doing, but today I got a second hour! But now what do I write about? -
Long time, no post
June, except for the SF convention, was boring/depressing. So was July. August has been saved by a trip to the Quad Cities to see my sister not_hathor and my high school 40th class reunion. Been under the weather
Like I said in the title. Plus was really depressed the first two weeks of this month and didn't get on the library's computers. Then last week I tripped over something (the laundry basket, one of the cats, or my own two feet) and fell down on the concrete, spraining my ankle. Snowed in
I was supposed to go out Friday afternoon, but the snow was coming down so hard my windshield wipers couldn't keep up with it. Who opened the Fresca??? I had an appointment to see a psychologist for disability determination, but when I had to stop and re-scrape the windshield before I even got out of the appartment complex...Reschedule ( Read more... ) -

Grief
Reading a new book/series, and thought,"Mike will enjoy this--oh, damn." At least he got to read the Tamora Pierce and the Tanya Huff books he'd been waiting for ( Read more... ) -
Sad, but hanging in there
My husband Mike died November 19 and this is the first time I've gotten on Livejournal since. It was sudden and unexpected; one minute he was talking to me, the next he gasped and slumped over. He was a big guy and I couldn't move him to try CPR with my torn bicep. The paramedics got there really fast, but couldn't revive him. Neither could the ( Read more... ) -
More about the kitties
And also about me. And hubby--hubby saw doctor today--he has one month to get his A1C level down to 8.5; if he can't he will have to go on insulin. I'm gonna have to be real strict about his diet (and mine, too). The good news is, he lost about 40 pounds since last spring--10 in the last month--and his blood sugar numbers ARE going down, just not ( Read more... ) -
Got to write fast
Not much time left, but George is doing ok. He was really mad when we brought him home from the vet's and destroyed a panel on the cat carrier. By the time we got into the appartment, he had his head stuck out the side of the carrier and was trying to get out ( Read more... )
